Hello and welcome to another Path of Exile guide here in Web Junkies Blog. This time, we will be presenting a build for Marauder build which is very budget friendly and a great build to use in killing Atziri. This build is called the Marauder Atziri Killer Build (duh, obviously).
Before we start, we would just like to say that this build was not created by any of the admin of Web Junkies. It was based on RaizQt Budget Incenerator (Atziri Killer Build). So if anyone deserves credits, then it should be RaizQt.
Okay, now let's begin...
First, let's see the pros and cons of this Atziri Killer Build for Marauder.
PROS
- Atziri viable. This build was made to farm atziri with ~1 exalt currency investment. You will not find a cheaper hardcore Atziri farming build out there. Fast, cheap, deadly = all you need. With a life sprig and on a 4l you can kill any Atziri boss withing seconds.
- Outstanding damage. Solo the build really shines. In groups it does very well because of the HUGE amounts of single target/small aoe damage it does. (even in 78 maps)
- Scales incredibly. Incinerate simply scales by itself. You don't need any damage nodes lvling up and when you equip a rise at 65 and switch to RF the damage really kicks off.
- Great survivability. Over 6k life + MOM/AA/armour nodes/Regen/leech grants great amounts of survivability. The fact that you're constantly stunning mobs also helps greatly. This build SERIOUSLY benefits from smart usage of pots which also provides interesting and micro intensive game-play (if one chooses so).
- Cheap. Very cheap. Super cheap. All you need is a rise of the phoenix (10-15 chaos in beyond). The rest honestly doesn't matter. Before i could afford a cloak of defiance i was running grace and that worked great with all the armor nodes. I simply prefer the cloak because of the EHP. I also did atziri with a lifesprig as shown in one of the videos.
- Great for both solo and party. You're not forced to stick to style of play. Solo/party/atziri/mf you can do whatever you want with this build, even PVP.
CONS
- Too cheap. Its crazy.
- Cant turn on RF in half regen/vulnr/-max maps. Not that anyone is running thoes at the moment but IF you choose to do thoes types of maps you will only have about 50 % of your damage. However all the regen will help a lot with surviving so its up to you.
- HUGE amounts of physical damage can be a bitch. Haven't had too many problems but be careful about this like with any MOM/AA build.
The Skills you need for this Marauder Atziri Killer Build
This is just an example. Currently this is the setup im running. Depending on the gear you can get you can run your gems in whatever slot you want.
Helm 4L - Righteous Fire / Increased burning damge / Increased AOE / Conc effect . You dont need to run the conc effect in solo maps if you feel it doesnt have a big enough aoe. It is mandatory for atziri thou, the damage boost is too high.
Weapon 1H 3s - Arctic armour / Empower / Elemental weakness - AA + empower OpieOp. Elemental weakness is there to help you out a little bit on thoes SUPER tanky mobs but typically you never use it. If you can get curse on hit gloves you would be in heaven.
Gloves 4L - Reduced mana / Purity of fire / Herald of ice / Clarity . For atziri you run purity of lightning instead of the herald of ice.
Boots 4L - Cast when damage taken / enduring cry / increased duration / immortal call. Helps a lot with phys. Most of the time the phys is completely mitigated by the granite with flask/armor nodes but you have to run this just in case. Explanation for lvls in the Q&A section.
Chest 4L - Incinerate / Spell echo / Faster casting / GMP or LMP(personal preference). Your fifth and sixth link would be fire penetration and faster projectiles. Use a added cold for your sixth link if youre doing atziri, you dont need the faster projectiles.
Shield 3L - Lightning warp / Faster casting / Reduced duration. Use this wisely. It will provide you with HUGE amounts of mobility and will increase your clear speed tremendously. Positioning is key with incinerate.
The Suitable Gears for the Marauder Atziri Killer Build
Gloves/Helm: Life/ressistances/ES/Mana. Try and get corrupted gloves with ele weakness on hit. Meginord's vise might work. Just dont use them for atziri or you'll kill yourself.
Chest: Life/ressistance/Mana. Get a cloak if you can aford it. If you cant just use grace and you can use whatever chest you want. :)
Shield : Rise of the phoenix. No choice here :) RISE OR GTFO
Boots : Life/ress/MS/MANA/ES. Keep in mind that you need 4 red on one of your gear pieces so a es/arm hybrid would be best here.
Belt : life/ressists/str. Get a lot of life here, its easy and cheap.
Weapon : Fire damage / Cast speed / Spell damage. Doryanis is your best in slot because it buffs both your incinerate and your RF but the build works great without it. I killed atziri with no risk with a lifesprig just to prove this is a budget build.
Rings/Amulet : Mana regen/Life/Ress/Mana/ES. Probably your most important gear pieces survivability-wise. Make sure you get 50 % + mana regen jewelry.

You can also go witch by picking the mana regen/spell dmg nodes if you're willing to skip some life nodes.

Atziri Killer Build F.A.Q.S
Q : WHAT ABOUT REFLECT?!
A : AA. Even with added cold mirror atziri (100 % reflect) did nothing to me. You dont care about reflect at all
Q : Bandits ?
A : Oak, kill, kill
Q : Could you have a brief overview of which gems you should focus on buying quality.
A : Incinerate is the only quality gem you need to clear maps. You don't need it at all on atziri because this build basically melee's everything so projectile speed doesn't matter.
Q : Why do you choose fire pen over added chaos?
A : We use a doryanis and only scale elemental/fire damage which does not benefit added chaos at all. It is fine to use it while leveling up but later on fire pen is simply better.
Q : How much life regen/fire ress do i need to run RF ?
A : You need 87 fire ressistance and 11.3 % life regenerartion to run RF without inner force. Basically a lvl 17 Purity of fire and all the life regeneration other than master of the arena. With inner force you need 89 % fire and 12.3 Life regen.
Q : What is your CWDT level?
A : We Keep our CWDT at lvl 10, enduring cry at 11 and immortal call at 10. The increased duration we level because it is a support gem and does not need to be below the CWDT lvl. We only lvl our gems this high because we need them to proc often enough to not get 1 shot but not too low so that any elemental damage can trigger it while our enduring cry is on cooldown resulting in a new immortal call with close to 0 duration because we dont have endurance charges.
Q : Why no cybil's paw?
A : We have no block. It's almost useless. It's ok for leveling with a crest of perandus but thats about it. When we equip a rise of the phoenix we should get a different weapon.
Q : I im following your guide and i cant run RF?!
A : There could be a couple problems here. You either did not follow the leveling section correctly and dont have the right passive points or you dont have a lvl 17/20 purity. If you tookinner force/athleticism before you have a lvl 20 purity of fire remove them right away. The only reason we can take thoes nodes is because 4 max ress from the purity + 25 % effectiveness gives us an additional max ressistance point (doesnt show on tooltip but shows on character sheet). However most likely the problem is that you dont have a lvl 17 purity of fire and 11.4 % life regeneration, follow the leveling guide and make sure you take all the points mentioned and you will be fine.
Q : Can you do uber with this build?
A : I would not recommend doing uber Atziri with this build. I don't think you can solo uber atziri in a hardcore league. The trash + second fight will wreck You. However the first and last fight should be easy. Up to you. I wont be doing it with this character, maybe in the future ill keep it as backup for another uber atziri runner.
Q : Whats your tooltip dps?
A : 3,6 k on atziri with fire pen and faster casting (cant use added cold, mana problems) and without herald of ice.
