Disgaea 5 is the latest game in Nippon Ichi’s long-running Strategy RPG series that become a phenomenon when the first game in the series debuted for PS2 a decade ago way back in 2003, called “Disgaea: Hour of Darkness” (It was also released in upgraded form for PSP in 2006 titled “Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness” and “Disgaea DS” hit in 2008).

Here is a look at some of the new characters in Disgaea 5:
* Killia (Main Character)– The young male demon protagonist who seeks revenge against the Demon Emperor, “Void Dark”. Harbors power within his body that rivals that of an Overlord. (Japanese Voice Actor: Mamoru Miyano)
* Seraphina – A sheltered princess and daughter of the demon king of the “Gorgeous Underworld”. She eagerly aims to fight “The Lost”, while running away from home to avoid a political marriage initiated by her parents. (Japanese Voice Actor: Sarah Emi Bridcutt)
* Usalia– Demon king of the “Rabbit Rabbit World”. She rides a giant yellow Prinny who fights alongside her during combat. (Japanese Voice Actor: Satomi Akesaka)
* Christo (Japanese Voice Actor: Junji Majima)
* Zeroken (Japanese Voice Actor: Tetsuya Kakihara)
New to Disgaea 5 is a supercharged increase in the number of characters that can be shown on-screen at once. Whereas the PS3 games only allowed for 10 characters, the power of the PS4 has allowed Nippon Ichi to increase that number to a whopping 100! WOWZA!
In this game the Resistance & Affiliation statistics of various units is directly displayed on the battlefield, and the game features the “Revenge” & “Maougis” Systems (as well as all-new systems not seen in any previous games that may yet be known).
The Revenge system is triggered as your characters take damage via a meter, whereas the Maougis System features extremely powerful moves that can only be unleashed while in Revenge Mode after your meter has filled and Revenge has been activated.
Naturally, only a few characters (Demon Lords, generally) can take advantage of their Maogi.
These moves are so powerful that using only one can turn the tide of tactical battle in your favor.
