Street Fighter V, the fifth core entry in Capcom’s long-running king of fighting game franchises, has been officially announced EXCLUSIVELY for PS4 on consoles, as well as on PC. It is the true sequel to 2008’s Street Fighter IV.
Check out the first Street Fighter V gameplay reveal trailer!
Sony & Capcom are promising that Street Fighter 5 will be a true console exclusive that will never get released on another platform (i.e. Xbox One). Of course, fans have their doubts considering how many times Capcom likes to update and re-release their Street Fighter games times infinite…
Street Fighter V is being co-developed with involvement from Sony, and since it’s an exclusive it will make the most of the PlayStation 4’s power, graphical muscle, features and network. Including the huge new ability for cross-platform play, allowing PC gamers to fight PS4 gamers online.
Little of the game is known although Capcom revealed the first actual early gameplay footage of the title at the 2014 PlayStation Experience event.
By the looks of the trailer you can see the all-new graphics engine and a different, more realistic, less cartoony graphics-style. Along with Ryu and Chun-Li ducking it out, and the ability to knock players into the next environment (hardly a new thing but the first time it’s been done in Street Fighter).
If you’re familiar with Street Fighter you can glean some of the new features and how the game plays by watching the gameplay footage.
