Here's a straightforward critical build for Taka (The Melee Assassin) in Vainglory.

Taka Basic Skills

House Kamuha
Slot: Heroic Perk

Each time Taka critically strikes, he receives 75% of the damage back as health along with a burst of speed. Every 2 seconds, Taka is guaranteed a critical strike. Taka gains 1 Ki stack when he uses an ability or performs a critical strike (up to 5 stacks). Each stack of Ki increases the frequency of critical strikes and accelerates ability cooldowns.

Kaiten
Slot: A

Taka flips over his target, cutting it with his switchblade. Taka doesn't take damage while in mid-air.

Kaku
Slot: B

Taka throws a smoke bomb at his feet, vanishing from enemy sight and gaining move speed. This illusion ends early if he strikes a target or he takes direct damage. Turrets, Scout Traps and Flare Guns will see Taka while invisible.

X-Retsu
Slot: C

Taka bursts through his target, carving an X with his switchblades for lethal damage. The target suffers a mortal wound, reducing its healing by 50% and taking damage over the next 4 seconds.

How to play Taka

Taka is a fast moving character who has the potential to deliver, powerful and devastating critical hits. This build will hopefully give you a few ideas to play Taka better. The aim of this build is to prioritise Taka's main ability, his critical hit, life steal. This build is a guide to make your first hit as devastating as possible, so that you can defeat even the most powerful characters. One last thing the "Situational Items" category, are just some hints for you to evolve and manipulate this build to make Taka more all rounded.

Threats to Taka

LOW

Krul
Krul relies on a prolonged battle to win while Taka excels at fast assassinations. This makes Krul a fairly easy target for Taka.

Joule
Joule's special ability allows her to knock some of the damage from your attacks away if you attack her from the front or sides. Luckily Taka's Kaiten allows him to get behind Joule as well as negating the damage from her most powerful moves.

AVERAGE

Glaive
Glaive like Catherine has more generally has more health than other characters, combined with stung attacks he can be a formidable opponent.

Adagio
Adagio can be beaten by Taka, however be careful as he has healing abilities too, this means he may be able to out last Taka.

SAW
Saw's main threat is his strength. He may just be able to finish you off before you can land a critical hit.

Koshka
Koshka is, in many ways, very similar to Taka, this can make for a deadly combo or a dangerous fight, for both of you.

HIGH

Petal
Petal has the largest range in the game so far, this makes it hard for Taka to get near her without taking a lot of damage. X-retsu and Kaku can eliminate that problem though. Petals other advantage is her minions, she can use them to keep on hitting you even when you try to use Kaku to escape. Her healing abilities also make it very hard for Taka to finish her off quickly.

Ringo
Ringo is another dangerous character for any player. His long range and his fast deadly shots make it hard for Taka to run away.

Catherine
Catherine has a lot of health and her shield makes it hard for Taka to do enough damage it a short period.

Taka
Taking on Taka if you are playing as Taka is a bad move. If you know he is a higher level than you or has items stronger than yours them do not engage him.
