Credits: Warrior Build: Way of the Sword by Natsumi
Hey everyone!
Natsumi here from the Europe server.
Seeing as questions started to pop up in this section about what would be a good build for a Warrior I decided to make another guide, this time though it will be the one for the Tank. Now, there are two types of Tanks; a DPS tank and a Full Tank.
I'm pretty sure that down the line people will start making DPS Tanks due to the lack of damage that they deal in which the DPS excel. However a Tank's duty is not to do a lot of damage but to keep their party members safe from harm (granted the enemy's AoE will still hit them but hey bear with me lol).
Like always threads such as these are made for us to post our guides and discuss, not argue, which build is best and why. Stats that you should keep an eye out for; STR, DEF and STA. 1 STR will give your Warrior 2 ATK and some DEF. STA is nice for that extra HP and DEF is a no brainer of course, how higher your DEF the longer you will survive.
There are 3 'Ultis' (Ultimate Skills) that we can choose from when it comes to Active Skills however we only get to pick 1 when your Active Skill reaches level 10. The million dollar question would be... which one? And why? Keep in mind that your choice depends on your own playstyle.
A fair warning before you start adding points; After a skill reaches level 5 you'll need 2 SP to level it up everytime you wish to increase its level and lvl 9 and 10 are 3 SP each, so it's not like you can make a skill level 10 with just 10 SP, it will be 17 instead.
This is important to remember guys, cause just in case you need to restat you don't mess it up by accident (not that it happened to me or anything... *cough* failed lol).
Let's have a look at all Active and Passive skills first!
Active Skills:
* Rage Rush - Uses Rage to launch a powerful attack. The ATK of Rage Rush is proportional to the Rage used. (ST)
* Shield Strike - Uses the shield to deliver a fatal blow to the enemy. Stuns enemies (set chance). (ST)
* Solitary Battle - Releases Vigor and taunts. Decreases Rage level and damage received. (AMP)
Passive Skills:
* Sword Training - Upgrades skills involving swords. The weapon's ATK stats increase as the skill level rises. (BUFF)
* Physical Strength - Strengthens body through digilent training. Increases DEF. (BUFF)
* Fighting Spirit - Shares Vigor with other party members. Increases party's ATK and DEF during battle. (BUFF)
* Intensified Rage - Focus Rage on attacks. ATK increases based on accumulated Rage.
Ultimate Skills:
* Rage Rush - Inflicts 653% additional damage. Adds 2.5% additional damage per Rage +1. Decrease enemy's DEF by 33% for 20 seconds. Cooldown 15 seconds. Learned at level 35. Costs 5 SP.
* Shield Strike - Inflicts 735% damage. Decreaes EVA by 50% and stuns for 12 seconds. Stun duration applied to bosses as well. Cooldown 18 seconds. Learned at level 39. Costs 5 SP.
* Solitary Battle - Taunts for 18.8 seconds. Increases Rage by 200% when hit by normal attacks. Decreases self's damage received by 38% entire party damage received by 8%. Cooldown 20 seconds. Learned at level 40. Costs 5 SP.
With all skills discussed it is time to make a choice how many points to put where and which Ultimate to get, seeing as we can only have 50 SP (1 per level). Feel free to post your Build and thoughts here so that we can all learn from each other!
My first thought would be as followed:
Active Skills:
* Rage Rush - Uses Rage to launch a powerful attack. The ATK of Rage Rush is proportional to the Rage used. (Lvl 1)
* Shield Strike - Uses the shield to deliver a fatal blow to the enemy. Stuns enemies (set chance). (Lvl 1)
* Solitary Battle - Releases Vigor and taunts. Decreases Rage level and damage received. (Lvl 10)
* 19 pts.
Passive Skills:
* Physical Strength - Strengthens body through digilent training. Increases DEF. (Lvl 7) * Fighting Spirit - Shares Vigor with other party members. Increases party's ATK and DEF during battle. (Lvl 10) * 26 pts. Ultimate: * Solitary Battle - Taunts for 18.8 seconds. Increases Rage by 200% when hit by normal attacks. Decreases self's damage received by 38% entire party damage received by 8%. Cooldown 20 seconds. Learned at level 40. Costs 5 SP.
* 5 pts.
So Full Tank is what I'm going for rather than a DPS Tank, I believe that with the two passives you can pretty much get a high amount of extra DEF and also boost your party's ATK in the meantime. The Taunt ulti seems pretty logic as well and overal you'll be the meatshield.
Anyway... these are just my thoughts but I'm curious how you guys are going to build your Warrior. Hopefully there are some DPS Warriors out there who can contribute here as well by posting their DPS guide for the class, I'm quite curious about that and it could be a good option for a later restat.
Thank you very much for reading and helping out... I'll see you in game
Happy Hunting!
