Here is the first guide on Qodron- Guide for PoE 34 Boss - Qodron by Yivoe

This Vex boss's special mechanic is that he will imprison you in bubbles similar to Atheon's. Getting out of these bubbles is very hard, but luckily, he gives you an easy way out.

Before he puts you in a bubble text will pop up saying "Qodron is searching for targets", this is when you need to find a unique goblin named Qodron's Eye. When you kill him it will give the player who dealt the killing blow a buff that will allow him to get him and his teammates out of the bubbles by shooting them.

To summarize:

Find Qodron's Eye (Shiny special Goblin)

When the text appears "Qodron is searching for targets", kill Qodron's Eye to gain a buff.

When you get trapped in bubbles, player with the buff gets teammates out.

Recommended to use shotguns for this.

I'd also recommend standing on the left side of the map, as Qodron's Eye seems to spawn there. And its easy to kill adds as well.

Bonus Strategy 1: Can confirm the Skolas method works. Titan pops a bubble at the airlock as you enter the arena. Smash boss with Gallahorns. Pop synth inside bubble. Repeat. Boss dead. No need to worry about the eye. - /u/h3llbee

Bonus Strategy 2: If you have the Ram exotic helmet as a voidwalker and a shotgun/machine gun, you can break yourself out of your own detainment bubble without the buff.

Just shoot the bubble until your health goes red, melee the shield and regain health, shoot for three seconds while the Life Steal goes down, then melee the shield again for more health. It works extraordinarily well. I used with a 300 Corrective Measure and broke myself out of my own bubble many times without the buff. This is also useful if you get put into the bubble with low health to begin with. - /u/986JCC

Bonus Strategy 3: Super Good Advice does indeed work. Best thing to do is group up on each other and make sure the person who has Super Good Advice is dedicated to being Jailbreaker. - /u/chammer88

Here's another guide on Qodron- Ghallyless Qodron Guide by Multiple_Cows

So alot of people seem to have the consensus that the only way to beat Qodron is to use the Skolas "Strategy" (i.e. Ghally the shit out of him), but there is another way to beat him that dosen't require a ghally. I used this strategy with two 34s and a 33, none of us had ghally.

The first thing you need to do is assign roles to specific players. The 2 major roles are DPS and Jailbreaker.

DPS

DPS is the team that does the bulk of damage to Qodron and adds, you can split up duty to Qodron DPS and add management, but these two require generally the same loadout, so I grouped them into 1 category.

For your primary I recommend a high impact scout rifle or pulse rifle. These two can deal the best damage at medium to medium-long range. A hand cannon can be used, but they can be tricky to hit Qodron's crit spot with one. Medium range and high impact is optimal for dealing with adds and hitting Qodron at medium range. If you are feeling overwhelmed by adds or snipers, rapidly hit many hobgoblins to stun them, then rush to cover.

For your secondary I recommend a sniper with high ammo and high impact. This is used for doing alot of damage to Qodron, and dealing with Axis Hobgoblins. Ice Breaker works very well because you have infinite ammo, meaning you don't have to consciously think if you want to waste special ammo killing Axis Hobgoblins or damaging Qodron. It also has good impact, making it very good for dealing damage to Qodron.

For Heavy, I would recommend a tracking rocket launcher, you can use Gjallarhorn or Truth, but that consumes an exotic slot that could be used for Ice Breaker. I used Hunger of Crota because of it's tracking, cluster bomb's, and high blast radius. When firing a tracking rocket, be careful, as Qodron will move from behind to infront of the gate (facing the entrance) causing the rocket to hit the gate when he is moving.

Jailbraker

The Jailbraker's main job is to kill Qodron's Eye, get the Jail braker buff, and break shields. The best way to do this is to lower the eye's health to near death, wait till a text message pops up on the bottom left of your screen that is in white color it will be along the lines of "Qodron is seeking his targets" at this point you kill the eye granting you the buff. Once shields are up, use your shotgun to take down everyone's shield quickly. After all shields are down, help with add management until the next eye appears. On to loadout.

Primary can be whatever primary you are comfortable with, it just needs to do enough damage to take down the eye. So most hand cannon's will do just fine as he will be at close-medium range 90% of the time. You will be doing minimal add management so the only thing you need to watch out for is stunning hobgoblins in case you're in danger.

For your secondary, I recommend a shotgun as mentioned above, range is almost irrelevant to this fight, but can be helpful with taking down an axis hobgoblin that gets to close or if the eye has too much health too late. You will mainly want impact and fire rate. PRIORITIZE FIRE RATE OVER RANGE. Full-Auto shotguns are highly encouraged as they destroy shields rapidly.

Heavy for the most part doesn't matter, as you won't probably use it, but a rocket launcher is recommended in case you want to pop a few rockets into Q-tip.

The fight

The first thing you will want to do is head to the back left corner of the arena. This is the area with the best cover. If people say Qodron's eye only goes right, that is incorrect. Me and my group stayed left the whole encounter and always has his eye coming for us. I believe he spawns in the gate by Qodron and hops down to where ever you are. You are going to want to take cover by the fallen crates next to the pillar, as this is a mostly safe spot from adds (watch for the occasional hobgoblin to your right), Qodron can occasionally shoot you, but you can move to the left so that the left wall is blocking his line-of-sight. Behind the crates is also the best spot to lay sniper fire into Qodron, as most adds will either throw grenades or not notice you. Add management will want to be in the corner that is out of Qodron's line-of-sight. You will be able to see out into where most of the adds are piling up, and be able to take down most of the snipers, if you need a time to step-back and recover, go to where the Qodron DPS player is to get some relief. Jailbreaker will want to use the pillar to shield himself from adds while maintaining a clear view of the platform and left wall, it is recommended to start engaging as soon as possible to keep the eye's health low, try to avoid shooting off the head, as that complicates things greatly.

Keep Damage on Qodron, and you will eventually kill him. It might take awhile, but you can do it. Heavy synths aren't necessary, but certainly speed up the fight, as rockets do large amounts of damage.

I hoped this guide helps people who are struggling with Qodron and don't have Ghally.
