For those of you who have seen my recent post today about Hot Cosplay Girl #10: Koyuki, you might be wondering of what is Zone 00 and, how the hell did she get famous by that.
First let us discuss about Zone 00.
ZONE-00 is a manga created by Kiyo QJO (a.k.a. Kiyo Kyujyo) that is published by KADOKAWA SHOTEN and was first released in 2007 in Japan. ZONE-00 also ran in Beans Ace magazine and had stopped publishing in October 2009. Currently, nine volumes have been released in Japan. TokyoPop released four of these volumes before closing its North American publishing branch in May 2011 (zone-00.wikia.com).
Now, one of the hottest character in this anime is the gal named Mayoko Okino. Often called "Majoko" throughout the series ( a pun nickname involving the word "Majo", 'witch', and her own name), Mayoko Okino is known in the series as the "Witch of the West". She was first shown flying with her broom over a site where Ango Shima was fighting against a Mononoke. She was later formally introduced when presented to her new class (Kujo's class), as a transfer student coming from Kyoto, along with Shima. It is implied that she knew Ango beforehand, as she states that they might have already fought once.
As a witch, she also has a familiar: a nekomata named Senryou (who is, supposedly, her boyfriend), portrayed as small, black cat whose tail's divided. His eyes are also colored differently, as the left one is indigo and the right one, golden. He has pleaded her loyalty she saved his life (zone-00.wikia.com).
This was the character that Koyuki picked to Cosplay with... With her stunning beauty and epic-ly made costume, she had made the "coming to reality" of Moyoko Okino PERFECTLY STUNNING!
