Best Occultist Tank Build in Revelation Online

Here i will be speaking about my personal class that i have played on the CN client the Occaltist and why building it as a tank like i do might be something you find enjoyment in ;) 

Please note that I as a player am strongly advertising the class as a tank in PVP i have very little experience with PVE so please do not confuse the guide towards the monster slaying spectrum.


1. First i will give a brief overview of what i found very successful and what failures came with my build as a Tank Occultist. . .

-So the biggest thing i loved about playing the tank spec of this class was its overall great survivabilty without the need for a healer in late game lvls. . . Due to its great scaling while building a good 40 / 40 / 20 split of ( Spirit / Constitution / Dex ) Your self healing stays up to par while also being granted passive defensive upgrades. Why? Well i'm sure you already know that building DEX on occultist gives you a 105% healing power on each skill point upgrade . . . well . . . building spirit instead only gives 100% healing power BUT it also grants you the added mana / hp regeneration and magical defense with each point as well. So while you will be definitely losing out on damage modifiers for not upgrading more DEX stat your healing and defenses will all be upgraded together making you a hard target to take down and an even harder target once you apply some healing and shields to yourself.

-Here is my current skill point build for the occultist class (Note this is more towards suitability then damage outputs.)

- So the main skill we will be looking at are Reincarnation Gate, Nether Swap, Soul Change, Soul Deception, Soul Mirror, Soul Domain, and Nether Blast. (I will be going in order from the most beneficial to the least beneficial)

1. Reincarnation Gate - I took 7 points in the "light" upgrades on this skill. This is due to the effect it gets at the third rank which effectively doubles its healing depending on your % of missing hp. This skill also apply's to other AOE's that it is stacked onto of. So a usual rotation you would do if below 20-60% hp is throw this skill up and place a light version of Soul Domain underneath it, effectively granting you almost all of your hp back within seconds.

2. Soul Change- I took 7 light points into soul change until being granted the passive which granted 50% damage immunity when under 20% hp. This is a great passive to have as it could save your life more then once in alot of given senerios. All you need to do is switched your stance to active it when under the certain 20% of hp. And when being ganked the 50% damage immunity gives you just that much more time to pop Reincarnation Gate + Soul Domain for a large portion of your hp back.

3. Soul Deception- So yet another 7 points in the light tree this is VERY important to distribute these points as the 2nd tier lowers the movement speed of the ball and the 3rd tier unlocks adding healing if you are below a certain % of HP. Now i know what your thinking. . . "Why would i want to reduce the movement speed of the ball. . . that sounds counter productive" BUT that is where you are wrong. Adding in those points to reduce the movement speed of the ball makes it move at a speed where you can walk or run within it as the healing ball heals those it passes through and then exploding for a large burst of HP gained. This is where the third tier comes in. . . Increasing the healing while under a certain % oh hp this is your 2nd best source of sustain as with the passive you could simply run in the path of the ball over and over for adding healing.

4. Soul Mirror- The soul mirror upgrades are all pretty simply increases the bonuses of the effects that the light mirror give to you which means more Armor and Magic Defense. The bread and butter of these upgrades is the the tier 3 which increases your dodge recovery by 50% while standing nearby the mirror which you will be doing anyway. And more dodge means more opportunity to get out of harmful AOE and CC from other classes.

5. Soul Domain - This ability you would use in conjunction with soul mirror and Reincarnation Gate. With the correct placement of points while under the influence of the spell it will increase your dodge recovery by other 30% effectively giving you 70% recovery if done nearby the light mirror. Add in Reincarnation Gate for the added CC immunity , movement speed and incredible hp recovery and you would be a fortress on wheels with jet boosters.

6. Soul Explosion- This is a very nice ability to keep on a low cool down. With the added duration passive upgrade this grants you the effect for 5 secs instead of three basically granting you a free healing for 5 secs if you are taking damage while the effect is upon you.

7. Soul Return- This is not one that is a necessity but it a great pick up if you have the extra skill points. The only reason i didn't put this high on the list is its high cool down. BUT the passive upgrade increases the shield amount by 30% while also giving you 50% CC immunity for the duration of the shield. Which is quite nice.
