If you have played Fallout 4 and built up your settlements, you may have noticed or ran into the build size cap. Using just 4 console commands, we can easily bypass it!
*NOTE* You must perform these steps at each settlement you wish to remove the cap for.
Step 1
Simply travel to the settlement that you wish to remove the build size limit from. Then go to the workshop and stand in front of it.
Step 2
Enter the console by pressing the hotkey for it. By default I believe it is the tilde key (the key that has a "~" on it). If this is does not work, it may be due to a different keyboard format depending on where you live. If so, your bind may be different.
Once you have done this, you should see the console entry area pop up and your game will pause. The entry area is a see-through black. Here's screenshot if you are confused.
Once you have entered the console, use your mouse cursor to left-click on the workshop. A series of numbers and letters (an id) should appear at the top center of the entry area. See the screenshot if you are confused.
Step 3
Once you see this, simply type these two commands in, pressing Enter/Return after each one. Make sure you type the spaces and capitalize only the ones I have.The commands are:
setav 349 3675555555.00
setav 34B 3675555555.00
*NOTE* If you don't want to count them, there are seven 5's in the numbers of the commands.
After this, exit the console by pressing the same button you used to open it, then open the workshop menu. If you have done it right, then the build size bar should be empty!
If you want to see these values, simply enter:
getav 348
getav 34A
This could be helpful if you want to see what the original values were, in which case you would enter these two commands first.
*NOTE*: It is mid-range, so if you think your PC may not be able to handle it you can always lower the values just to be safe.
