From that fun little notepad table, we can draw a few conclusions about chests in the Dark Zone.
Dark Zone chests that require a key have the shortest respawn time, taking a single hour to restock, and reward 2 items alongside 300 DZ Funds. However, they are balanced out by the fact that a key is consumed each time they are opened, and have varying quality of loot, between green and blue.
Dark Zone chests that require a specific Dark Zone rank to unlock have the longer respawn timers, taking 2 hours each, regardless of type. The small size of chest requires rank 5 and rewards a single green consistently. The medium size of chest requires rank 8 and rewards a single blue consistently. The large size of chest requires rank 10 and rewards two blues consistently.
Note: Be advised that these findings are tested only on the open beta of the game. We don't know yet if this will still be applicable when the final version of the game is launch on March.
