NBA 2K16 badges are not limited to just one tier. Badges are earned in MyCareer based on how you play, who you hang out with, and how good your regular attributes are. Badges can also counter other badges.
Many badges now come from Connections and who you hang out with on your day off. Badges uniquely identify players in two ways: Personality and Skill. They affect how players react to various emotional situations, as well as how they perform in specific in-game scenarios.
Below you can see all the badges that you can achieve in MyCareer mode in NBA 2K16 and of course, how to get them.

Bonus Tip: How to get all badges easily in NBA 2K16? While playing the MyCareer, try to play it on Rookie difficulty. In this way, the opponent will be much more easier to defeat. Then, go get those skills badges that will boost your defense and offense. For me, I have set the ankle breaker badges first as top priority. Well, it's easy to get. You can have them by playing a few games. Then, you can then get the badges that boost your shooting performance. Oh! I almost forgot, don't forget to get the pick and roll badge first before the badges that boost your boosting performance. In this way, you can easy get those badges that boost your inside scoring and, gain the those alley op badges easily.
Once you got the skills badges, you can change the difficulty to a harder one to get badges like those badges that boost your performance in game and defensive badges. In this part, I just enjoy the game. Well, most likely, I have all necessary badges to compete fiercely with the AI opponent so don't worry too much on those badges. Just play the game and have fun to get those badges. Anyway, I think for PROS, they can easily get the defensive badges. Unlike NBA 2K15 which don't have a great defensive sense, NBA 2K16 is now both great in offense and defense. I really love playing defense in NBA 2K16 as the reflex or response of players to the opponent is much more accurate. For example, once an opponent has done a great ankle breaker on you, that does not mean you cannot recover and chase him and even steal the ball or, do an awesome block.
Also, you can see that there are badges that can be earned through Connections. So, make sure that you choose your 10 connections which has those specific badges and of course, try to hang with them or try to to the connection task once it is available. And when you've received the badge from a certain connection, then move to another connections to which will increase your fans (to unlock more connections) or, to those who have certain badges that you want to get.
In the end, it's all about planning ahead which badges to get first and which to get last.
Hope this guide help you guys! Happy gaming! For my next guide, I will try to find out on how to upgrade those badges to gold. Of course in offline mode... See you next time!
