Dragon Nest Machina All Skills Description & Data Guide

Here is a preview of all the skills of the newest class in Dragon Nest, the Machina.


Machina is a pure physical attack melee class; STR and AGI stats increase her attack power. The 1st job advance is called Patrona, while the 2nd job advances branches to the offensive Ruina and the defensive Defensio.

The main weapon for Machina is steam-powered Knuckle Gear and Claw. The characteristic for Machina is face-paced action combat, and requires high degree of skill to control it. Machina can combine the various movement skills and steam (generated from her Knuckle Gear) to generate complicated combo.

All skills are physical attack based.



Skills are listed from top to bottom, then left to right according to the skill tree; generic skills such as tumbling, aerial evasion, HP passives etc are not translated.

Machina


Low Real Hook
Punch with Knuckle Gear to topple the enemy.
CD 10sec
Lv 27: 392% + 27754

Bounding Reaction
Kick the enemy with right leg, tumble backward and launch it into the air. It can be chained to Retro Charging.
Lv6 enchancement: After casting, press space bar to tumble backwards.

Lariat
Use the Knuckle Gear to push enemies and gather them together. Can be activated during Fly By by pressing Special attack button. Deal additional 50% damage if it is used during Fly By.
When casting Lariat, press Normal Attack to punch the ground with Knuckle Gear to knock up enemies. Deal additional 100% damage. CD 10sec
Lv 25: 673% + 80882

Rolling Attack
During Fly By, press Evasion to curl up your body to attack enemies. Press Space bar after hitting enemies to stop the rolling and jump again.

Overhaul
Convert a certain % of your physical defence into additional physical attack; the buff affects your party members as well. CD 60sec
Lv1: Each def is converted to 8% physical attack, duration 20 sec

Pivot Gun Shot
Use Claw to knock up nearby enemies and charge up Knuckle Gear.
Special Attack: while charging, you can input additional command to deal additional hits.

Body Check
After special attack, click special attack again to spin and use shoulder to knock against the enemy, generating impact wave.

Overlap Graze
When Fly By brushes against enemies or allies, generate “Enhancement Current”. When Enhancement Current is stacked up to 3, increase your phy attack & defence for a short time.

Charging Gear
Allow the charging up of the 5th normal attack. After unleashing the charged attack, you can chain the skill to Retro Charging.
Charged Phase 1: Charge 4m forward with Knuckle Gear. Additional damage 200%.

Follow Up
Charge forward and punch the ground with Knuckle Gear to float enemies. Press normal attack after that to spin your body and strike the enemies down with your right foot.
[Command Enhancement ] After Foot Stomping, press Normal Attack to chain into this skill. Deal additional 50% damage. CD 10sec

Follow Through
Charge up Knuckle Gear and attack the enemies in front. The burst energy will generate additional shockwave, which deal additional 100% damage.
[Command Enhancement] After Foot Stomping, press Special Attack to chain into this skill. Deal additional 50% damage. CD 12sec

Flying Knee Kick
Attack the enemies with knee kick, jump up and knock up surrounding enemies.

Kidney Blow
Generate vortex from the Knuckle Gear, sucking surrounding enemies towards yourself. After that, upper cut all enemies into the air.

Deus Ex Machina -Lv40 Ultimate
Infuse energy into the Knuckle Gear and charge into the enemies. Generate vortex while charging; the vortex moves toward you and will disappear upon reaching you.

Lv2: 571% + 56340. The vortex can last for 20sec. Increase the damage received by the enemies by 30%, duration 15sec.

Foot Stomping - Gear Step
Stomp with right foot to generate shockwave, lower your body and charge forward.
[ Command Enhancement ] Can be trigger by pressing Normal attack after Ducking.

Step Up - Gear Step
Lift yourself up with Knuckle Gear, tumble backward and kick your enemies up with both legs.
[Command Enhancement ] Can be trigger by pressing Spacebar after Ducking.
CD 10sec Lv7: 590% + 14430 Rock Away – Gear Step Draw Knuckle Gear backward to evade and generate air current which drag surrounding enemies. [Command Enhancement ] Can be trigger by pressing Special Attack after Ducking. CD 10sec

Ducking
After casting Gear Step, press Spacebar to lower your body, and move forward. Chain Gear Steps into Ducking reduces the CD of the Gear Step significantly.

Lv1: Reduce Gear Steps’ CD by 40%.
Lv6: Reduce Gear Steps’ CD by 90%.

Man to Man - Lv40 Ultimate
Jump up, charge up energy in the air and blast it on the enemies on the ground. Generate a force field to protect allies. A portino of the damage received by all party members within the protective shield is shared by you.
CD 125sec.
Lv1: Within the force field, damage received by all allies is reduced by 70%; phy & magical defence are increased by 30%, final damage is increased by 30%, duration 10sec.
Lv2: Within the force field, damage received by all allies is reduced by 80%; phy & magical defence are increased by 40%, final damage is increased by 30%, duration 10sec. 2487% + 51341

Air Shoving
Jump up and go into Guard stance. Upon successful guarding, generate a Recovery Current, which recovery allies’ HP, at a random place.
CD 0
Grant 0.3sec invincible frame upon successful guarding.
Lv1: [ Recovery Current ] Recover 1% HP every 2sec, duration 8sec
Lv14: [ Recovery Current ] Recover 7.5% HP every 2sec, duration 8sec

Beat Down
Generate a shockwave which float surrouding enemies. Jump up and press Normal attack to smash them to the ground.
[ Command Enhancement ] After Step Up, press Normal Attack to chain into this skill. Deal additional 50% damage.

Leaping Over
Do a handstand with both arm and push your body upwards, spinning and attacking enemies while flying toward.
[ Command Enhancement ] After Step Up, press Special Attack to chain into this skill. Deal additional 50% damage.

Beyond the Wall
Jump up and propel yourself toward. While moving, press Normal Attack to grab someone in air. Upon successful grabbing yourself or an allies, generate a Strengthening Current and Protective Shield.

[ Protective Shield ] Generate a damage absorbing shield
Lv1: Durability of the shield is 4% of HP.
Lv16: Durability of the shield is 20% of HP

[ Strengthening Current]
Lv1: Convert 8% phy attack to phy defence, duration 10sec
Lv16: Convert 40% phy attack to phy defence, duration 10sec.

Overclocking
Absorb energy from the ground with Knuckle Gear. Press left-click to cancel the skill.
CD 10sec
Lv1 Recover your own MP by 0.5 % per second. generate 2 Steam every 1.3 sec.
Lv7: Recover your own MP by 4.7 % per second. generate 2 Steam every 0.7 sec.
Every 2 Steam grants additional 1% Agi. Duration 600 sec

Overboost (Defence)
Use Over Flowing to unleashed the accumulated Steam to Increase your defensive ability. Duration 160sec.

[Tier 1] 1st cast
Lv 1: Final damage + 15%, attack speed + 20%
Lv6: Final damage + 20%, attack speed + 20%

[Tier 2] 2nd cast
Lv 1: Final damage + 20%, attack speed + 30%, Magical defence + 12%, Reduce the CD of Taunting Blow by 1sec when Gear Steps land hits. Reset the CD of Ducking.
Lv6: Final damage + 30%, attack speed + 45%, Magical defence + 22%, Reduce the CD of Taunting Blow by 1sec when Gear Steps land hits. Reset the CD of Ducking.

Overboost (Attack)
Use Over Flowing to unleashed the accumulated Steam to Increase your offensive ability. Duration 160sec

[Tier 1] 1st cast
Lv 1: Final damage + 10%, attack speed + 10%
Lv6: Final damage + 30%, attack speed + 20%

[Tier 2] 2nd cast
Lv 1: Final damage + 30%, attack speed + 20%, Reduce the charging time for all charging skills. Reset the CD of Ducking.
Lv6: Final damage + 50%, attack speed + 25%, Reduce the charging time for all charging skills. Reset the CD of Ducking.

NOTE: You can only pick either Attack or Defence Overboost.

Overflowing
Consume all 30 Steam. to activate. Increase your ability and heal your HP. Can be enhanced with Overboost (Attack) or Overboost (Defence)
CD 0.1sec
Lv1: Heal 16% HP
Lv6: Heal 26% HP
Steam lasts for 600sec.

Wallop
Click Normal Attack when you are hit to regain your posture and counter attack.
CD 20sec
Lv9: 194% + 7720

Defensio

Repair
Cure 10 abnormal status (including knockdown etc). Grant 0.5sec invincible frame after cast. Reduce all active skills CD by 5sec.
Lv1: CD 40sec
Lv4: CD 25sec

Taunting Blow
Jump forward and attack the enemies, leaving a “Mark” on it. Press Special Attack to ignite the Mark. The Mark has provoke effect and last for 10sec.

Oath Keeper – Lv65 Passive
Increase your superarmor significantly for 5sec when casting Gear Steps. Generate 2 Steam when using Air Shoving & Beyond the Wall.

Air Shoving EX
Strengthen Air Shoving. Generate 3 Recovery Current upon successful guarding.

Beat Down EX
Strengthen Beat Down. Press Normal Attack in the air to attract all nearby enemies to yourself and slam them to the ground. Damage increase 35%

Leaping Over EX
Strengthen Leaping Over. After casting, spin at the same location for awhile and apply suction on nearby enemies before spinning forward. 30% damage during the suction spinning and reduce the damage received by 12%, duration 10sec.

Beyond the Wall EX
Strengthen Beyond the Wall. Reduce the target’s phy & mag attack by 30%, duration 10sec.

Taunting Blow EX
Strengthen Taunting Blow. Deal additional damage when igniting the Mark. Damage increase 100%. The duration of the Mark is increased to 15sec

Ruina


Overcharging
Increase the charging phase of Charging Gear.
Charged Phase 1: Charge 4m forward with Knuckle Gear. Additional damage 200%.
Charged Phase 2: Compress air into Knuckle Gear and accelerate forward. Damage increase 1500%.

Over Heating
Deal 3 hit combo with Knuckle Gear and Claw while moving with quick steps. When the last hit lands, press Normal Attack to trigger a flurry of swift blows. Press Normal Attack again to execute the final punch.

Overdrive - Lv65 Passive
Increase your superarmor significantly for 5sec when casting Gear Steps. Generate 2 additional Steam.

Follow Up EX
Strengthen Follow Up. Perform additional 3 hits. Ignore targets’ defence.

Follow Through EX
Strengthen Follow Through. When the skill hits a target and generates shock wave, press Special Attack to generate additional shock wave. The shock wave deals 100% damage. Ignore enemies’ defence. Reduce targets’ elemental defence by 30%, duration 10sec

Flying Knee Kick EX
Strengthen Flying Knee Kick. Press left click after casting to execute another knee kick. The second knee kick deals 50% damage. Ignore enemies’ defence.

Kidney Blow EX
Strengthen Kidney Blow. Execute a second jumping uppercut. The second uppercut deals 50% damage. Ignore enemies’ defence.

Over Heating EX
Strengthen Over Heating. Increase casting speed and increase the number of hits by 30%. Ignore enemies’ defence.

The following brief descriptions on Machina’s skills are translated from the developer’s note on the official site.

1 Normal Attack

The mechanics for Machina’s normal attack is totally different from other classes.


1. Although the attack AOE is very small, the damage is very high
Machina’s “Normal attack” has very small AOE and thus requires more delicate control. However, the damage is twice as high as other classes.

2. Normal attack can be combo-chained after skills
After casting other skills, press “Normal attack” button to chain normal attack in the most natural way. Using normal attack in this manner will inherit the high damage from the previous skill.


Use “Charging Gear” and “Over Charging” to enchance Normal Attack
- After learning Charging Gear, Machina can perform a charging attack at the 5th hit of Normal Attack.
- Although the charging time with Charging Gear is longer, it can deal massive damage to the enemies.
- Upon job change to Ruina at level 45, Over Charging can be learned. The combo of Main DPS Skills > Normal Attack > Over Charging can deal extremely high damage, at the expense of long charging time.
- Machina’s normal attack is very different from other classes; it can be considered as an extension to other skills. It will allow players to form long combo chain between normal attack and other skills.


2 Fly By

Fly By is the basic movement skill for Machina. It is also the core skills for Lv1-15. It can be activated by Tumbling + Jump. To exploit the mobility of Machina, one have to master the combo involving Fly By.


Retro Charge: Fly By > Normal Attack
- after breaking and landing, charge up for the next jump
- if you release the normal attack after charging up, Fly By CD will be reset and can be used to jump again.
- in other words, after learning Retro Charge, Machina can use Fly By without CD.


Overlap Graze : passive effect; when Fly By hit enemies for 3 times, increase your own attack and defence.
- Fly By can be use infinitely with the CD reset effect of Rocket Charging.
- After learning Overlap Graze, Fly By will not just function as a movement skill, but also a skill which grants buff effect. Using Fly By continuously increases the damage output of Machina.

Lariat: Fly By > Special attack button
- Machina use the Knuckle Gear to push enemies and gather them together.
- Lariat is the skill with the highest superarmor break and highest damage below Lv15.
- Lariat is actually an independent skill and can be cast separately, but the damage is doubled when it is cast in combo with Fly By.


3 Command Enhancement

After the 1st job advance, Command Enhancement mechanics will be added to Machina’s main skills.

Before Command Enhancement can be applied, you will need to know about “Gear Step”.

Gear Step consist of 3 actives movement skills:

Foot Stomping: Stun surrounding enemies and charge forward


Step Up: Kick enemies up with both legs


Rock Away: Evade backwards while pull enemies in the same direction.


These 3 Gear Step can be chained with mouse click. After casting these skills, mouse click can be used to trigger other main skills, which grants additional 50% damage. This mechanic is called “Command Enhancement”.

Duck
These 3 Gear steps have their own CD. However, if you use “Duck” after the 3 skills, the CD for these Machine Step skills will be reset, meaning:

Gear Step 1 > Gear Step 2 > Gear Step 3 > Duck > CD of Machine Step reset.

“Steam Release” (to be introduced later) can be used to reset the CD of Duck. By perfecting the combo of Gear Steps and Command Enhancement, Machina can out-damage all other DPS classes.


4 Use of Steam

Steam can be accumulated up to 30. Agility stats will be boosted according to the amount of Steam stacked.

Consume all 30 Steam for Steam Release to enhance your own ability significantly for a short duration; you can perform Steam Release up to 3 times.

Obtaining Steam
1. Overclock : before Lv65
- can be used to accumulate Steam continuously; however, you are vulnerable while doing so; it is best to perform this before you start the battle.


2. Using Gear Steps: after Lv65
- gain 2 “Steam” after using Gear Steps ; ad mentioned previously, Gear Steps can be used continuously with Duck.


Air Shoving: Defensio’s active guard skill
- Jump up at the moment when the enemy strikes to guard again the attack. Upon successful guarding, generate Recovery Air Current to heal party members’ HP.
- In other words, the more enemy attack and Defensio manages to guard against them with Air Shoving, the more Recovery Air Current can be generated to heal the party.
