The Fallout 4 release date has been announced as November 10, 2015 on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One!
Here are some notes from the Fallout 4 section of the Bethesda E3 press conference:
• Fallout 4 Starts before the bombs fell. Threat of nuclear war looming. Create your character in front of the mirror, simply sculpt the face. No series of sliders. Play as a female. Same system used to make the NPC’s, even generate a baby based on the couple you make. Robots. Overa thousand popular baby names that the robot will say. No story spoilers, you do survive, lowered into the fvault… 200 years later you emerge, soul survivor of vault #111.
• Dialog is dynamic, you can play in first/third/walk away/shoot them, etc.Point & click to give the dog commands. VATS returns with mix of real-time/turn-based combat.
• New PIpboy that comes alive on the screen. Layred armored system, politics, game tapes…. Play classic games on your Pipboy! Atomic Command, Missile Command, Dokey Kong (REd Menace). AMAZING! They made a real Pipboy. Comes with the Collector’s Edition. Fallout 4 Pipboy edition. You can put your phone in it & they made an app for it. Works with teh game second screen exxpeerience. Generally stupid gimmicks, but this is the best fucking one. Actually works perfectly. SAme code on the pipboy runs on the app. Can still play it on the smartphone tablet (Ios/Android at launch). AMAZING.
• Crafting in Fallout 4, while playing you can rebuild the world around you. Scrap items and use those materials to build the way you want. You can build whole buildings and structures. Just like The Sims. It just works in real time. Rip it apart and build it how you want. They want you to build & decorate and make your own experience…. IT’s like a whole game by itself. You can even make a doghouse. As your settlement grows traders will arrive with the best items. You can plant food & water, power generators…. Generators will power through switches that run wires to connect it….. You can build your own terminaals that hook to the power grid and weak them to an insane level. Tweak the actual powr line……. INSANE. Your settlement will get attacked, so its guns into a Tower Defense. You can build entire large sites that allow you to build and even run caravans between the settlements. This is entirely optional.CArries over to other things in the world…. Game will tell you what components you need to build it. You can build a scope out of only certain items…. Stuff finally all has a purpose…..
• Over 50 base weapons, over 700 modifications. You can now craft your own guns. Take a basic Laser Pistol, modify it, turn it into something completely new. Scattered Automatic Laser Rifel Bladed Alluminum Baseball Bat…. INSANE crafting. You can even modify your oarmor.
Focused heavily from day one to make the combat feel GREAT. No matter how you play it. Full on first person, third person, or VATS.
Fun Fact:
Smartphone/Tablet also gets a totally new game. In 2007 when making Fallout 3, iphone came out. Played games on it all the time, talked about making their own game. But didn’t. Perfect for touchscreen only…. It’s called. “Fallout Shelter”. You make your own vault… you are the overseer, controlling everything…. Like The Sims Tower… Keep them happy. Litlte Computer People… X-Com, SimCity, FTL. Your sims have full stats, level-up…. Give them new items, outsfits weapons. You’ll send them off into the wasteland, have adventures, earn loot. Inspired by Progress Quest, an odd RPG. Resources are important, food water power…. Lots of different rooms you can build, some train people. Bar trains charisma, classroom Intelligence. Get rewarded with lunch boxes full of loot. Accidents can happen, fires, raider attacks. Best way to get new dwellers is the old fashion way. Raises their happiness when they go into the room & come out pregnant. Name the babies. FREE. No paywall timers, no Internet required.
